I'm a professional automation engineer at Boehringer Ingelheim and I work at the pharmaceutical drug plant here. My job is to automate the whole production process. I always was interested in the field of automation. This is something I personally love to do. I really love the rewarding feeling when something is running and working without anybody having to put effort into it. Well, I started studying electrical engineering in Rüsselsheim. Afterwards, I worked at Opel in the automotive industry. I was given the chance to join the Boehringer Ingelheim program, which is called Topics. This program, it is all about self-development. I'm always eager to learn something new and to develop myself.

As a technical expert, I feel very supported in my role and I noticed this from the very beginning. A lot of employers say that they want to respect the work-life balance and from my experience, this is the case. Another aspect why I joined Boehringer Ingelheim because I noticed a lot of people around me are getting sick of cancer and this runs in my family too. At some point in my life, I have a guarantee that I will be affected on this. I wanted to work for a company... I wanted to spend my working time within a company that is working on these problems. When we hear news about a new medicine that's working very well, was produced by us or was at some point produced in our plant, that was a great experience
