Supply Chain Management

Supply Chain Management

The two-year Management Trainee Program in Supply Chain Management gives you the opportunity to explore the various work areas of Corporate, Business Operating Units, and Production Operating Units in the form of three- to five-month job rotations. The majority of rotations take place in Germany (at the group headquarters in Ingelheim). As part of the program, you will also complete one rotation at an international location. You will be guided by a colleague from the department and a personal mentor from top management for the entire duration of the program.

Our task within supply chain management is to supply patients with innovative medicines worldwide - today and in future. You will support our teams in various areas of supply chain management and will gain valuable insight into the entire global value chain of Boehringer Ingelheim through your rotations.

With support of your mentor and experienced colleagues you can dive deep into the daily business of, for example, the Supply Network Tower and participate in projects such as Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning. As you gain experience, you will lead first projects. In this context, you will also work together with colleagues on the analysis and optimization of information and material flows with the aim of an efficient supply chain. At the end of your traineeship, you will be well prepared for the challenges in supply chain management - together we will then decide to which position your path will lead you.

The aim of the Supply Chain Management Trainee Program is to prepare you for possible future management positions at BI. Your personal development is always at the heart of the program. In this you will be supported both within and beyond the rotations. You will therefore usually work with managers, independently manage sub-projects, and present the results in committees. The rotation at an international location will give you the chance to work with different cultures and experience other ways of working. In addition, the program provides the opportunity to develop soft skills by participating in seminars and exchanging ideas regularly within the trainee circle and with your mentor. You will furthermore gain insight into the various specialist areas of the SCM organization. In this way, you can build up a cross-functional network and are optimally prepared for your further career at BI.

Successful candidates will have completed a master's degree in Business or Industrial Engineering with a focus on supply chain management, logistics or data science. They will also have had first practical experience in a company with relation to supply chain management. An international station as part of their studies or an internship abroad is usually also expected. Trainees must be motivated and open to other cultures, accept challenges and deliver impressive results even under demanding circumstances. Very good written as well as spoken language skills in English and basic German skills are required. An analytical mindset complete a trainee’s profile.
