The burden on the healthcare system remains heavy, as caring for COVID-19 patients require more attention and resources to manage. The coronavirus outbreak created nation-wide pressure on Jordanian medical communities, front liners and health institutions to combat the virus and at the same time continue to care for patients with chronic diseases.
By donating medicines used for the treatment of chronic conditions, Boehringer Ingelheim was able to help relieve some of the pressure to the healthcare system by securing treatment for those in need for continued care. Early April, the team in Jordan with the support of the local distributor delivered a donation of medicines to the Ministry of Health. The delivery included medicines for the treatment of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
