Boehringer Ingelheim reinforces its focus on innovation, animal well-being and productivity

Animal Health Innovation Latin America Forum traditionally brings biotech companies together with financial investors and pharmaceutical companies to better stimulate growth in the animal health industry and speed of innovation through partnerships and investment.

Innovation, animal well-being and productivity

"Innovation is the foundation of any business. Users, clients as well as end customers always expect more from suppliers and prefer products which fit their changing requirements. This challenge leads us to focus on new technologies, always aiming for better quality and effectivity of animal health products. In our segment, we also have other important concerns, such as comfort and well-being of both companion and production animals, in addition to making the contribution to an increase in productivity of livestock. Therefore, we find beneficial to take part in events providing a platform to discuss innovation in animal health”, affirmed Fábio Paganini, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Head for Latin America, during the opening of the Forum, held at the end of May in São Paulo.

Boehringer Ingelheim, the second largest animal health business in the world, also used this event to reinforce its engagement in Research & Development in which the company invested 17% of the total income in 2017.

The Forum brought together government bodies and private organizations, industry and production professionals, as well as distributors and investors from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. The discussed topics included innovation in Latin America and technological features scheduled for the following years, including technology proposals, services and solutions of startups and institutions focused on research in livestock (dairy and beef), pets and aquaculture.

“The veterinarians need support of the animal health industry facilitating access to new technologies that can help them on their jobs. The same applies to others, such as the meat processing industry. Boehringer Ingelheim has innovation in its DNA and we continuously search for improvements and innovative solutions,” concludes Fábio Paganini.
