Obesity

Obesity is a complex chronic disease that requires long term management. It is among the leading risk factors for several cardio-metabolic diseases such as heart disease, ischemic stroke, liver diseases incl. NASH and type 2 diabetes, as well as for a number of cancers. Obesity continue to rise, and by 2030 it is predicted that one billion people globally, including 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men, will be living with obesity (BMI ≥30kg/m²) by 2030. The number of people with obesity is on course to double since 2010.
