COVID-19: Protecting Our Employees
Our employees are what makes Boehringer Ingelheim. Their daily commitment helps to ensure the continued supply of our medicines to those who need them, and to engage in various initiatives to combat COVID-19. We have taken precautions to protect their health and mitigate the risk of COVID-19 affecting our organization.
In the course of the spread of the disease, we have taken a proactive approach and introduced early travel restrictions, which are currently global in effect. As an organization, Boehringer Ingelheim has state-of-the-art technology and equipment in place to facilitate the digital workplace. Our employees have the equipment and technical capabilities to log into their business systems from home. Wherever circumstances require this, colleagues who can work from home currently do so. On-site and production-related activities are subject to special protective conditions and employees work in separated shifts. This ensures that our production is not affected and the supply of our medicines to humans and animals remains uninterrupted. With regard to the implementation of measures, we strictly follow the guidance of local authorities and international experts, including the World Health Organization (WHO).
