I like most about my role, and the fact that it provides me with opportunities to create relationships with a lot of my colleagues and interactions that actually come with it. I am senior manager in Global Media Relations.
Our job, in principle, is to create a mutually beneficial relationship with journalists, but at the same time to work closely with the organization to identify news opportunities to communicate them externally. Every day is different. No day is the same.
It's a lot of about writing, for example, press releases. It's addressing and answering the media inquiries, for example. It's having meetings with my colleagues, so finding out what's happening in the business. You need to be very flexible, very adaptable, and very agile.
In terms of working across the functions and collaboration, this is absolutely critical for media relations because we need the information. My job contributes to a better and stronger reputation of the company as well as the trust, the way the company is perceived by customers, clients, partners.
The company really cares and employees really matter. I've seen that during COVID. I'm seeing it now when we're facing economic implications here in Europe. The teams feel really tight knit, very closely working together and supporting each other. It's really nice to have. I felt so welcome and I felt so supported from the very start, and I felt I belong.
