COVID-19: Volunteering in a Food Bank to help the new poors

Massimo Grasso volunteered 10 days in a national organization supporting charities working for food distribution to families in need.

Thanks to the days of paid leave available for all Boehringer Ingelheim employees, our colleague Massimo Grasso has chosen to offer his help to Banco Alimentare, a national organisation promoting the recovery and redistribution of food surpluses to charities. In the regional warehouse in Imola (Emilia Romagna), Massimo was  working daily with the incoming food and the preparation of the loads for the dozens of charitable entities that, every day, knock on the door of the major “food bank” in Italy. In this pandemic period due to COVID-19, the number of families with problems and in need of food has grown enormously, becoming a real food emergency.
