Legal e Compliance
I'm Stefanie Bock-Kreilinger. I work in the legal department at Boehringer Ingelheim as head of corporate legal medicine, evidence and digital health. Long title, but what it means is that I support any legal questions that come up in the development of new medicines for patients in need. Back in 2011, I started as a junior legal counsel in the Boehringer Ingelheim office in Vienna, Austria, negotiating contracts with hospitals and physicians.
Boehringer Ingelheim offers a variety of different development programs that are targeted to the specific needs. I, for example, currently participating in a training program that is dedicated to women in leadership. I can take out a lot of insights and reflections from that and apply to my day to day job.
The best thing about Boehringer Ingelheimis that we are a diverse bunch of people. People from different backgrounds, different working styles, different ways of thinking. But we are all united by the wish to improve the lives of patients and animals. Boehringer Ingelheim cares about the people, about the environment, and about the society in general, and encourages the employees to do the same.
For example, I had the chance to participate in a pro bono project a little while ago, where I went to the African country, Zambia, to teach law students at the University of Zambia in contract law. That was not only a fantastic development opportunity for me as a person, but gave me also the feeling that I could give back a little bit.
A career at Boehringer Ingelheim is fulfilling, is challenging at times, but in a way that one can grow from these challenges, and it's fun.
