Hi. My name is Taimi Sahlin, and I'm a therapeutic specialist with Boehringer Ingelheim Canada. I started working for Boehringer Ingelheim eight and a half years ago.

I had moved from a sales position within the biotech field and was looking for something that still had the same values in that it was a family-owned company, however, offered more in terms of career growth opportunities. Being based out of Vancouver and getting to work with the surrounding areas gives me an appreciation of the major academic centers as well as the rural hospitals and practitioners.

This gives me a for understanding of the challenges that patients face and allows me to be part of the solution. It's also very beautiful. So that's motivating on a day to day basis.

I've been able to take many courses that have challenged me. I've been able to collaborate cross-functionally with different departments, which has really given me a deeper understanding of different aspects of the business.

The best part about working for Boehringer Ingelheim is the people. It's very common to meet colleagues who worked for the company 10, 15, 20 plus years. This really shows you the trust that employees have in the company and the trust that the company has in their employees.
