第十屆台灣藍耳病論壇：攜手對抗藍耳病，共創養豬產業健康未來

10th Taiwan PRRS forum
The 10th Taiwan PRRS Forum was grandly held on November 1, 2023, in Kaohsiung City. This forum brought together experts and scholars to share the latest PRRS epidemic situation, control plans and successful control cases, enabling customers in the pig farming industry to be well-prepared in advance, thereby reducing the losses caused by PRRS. As mentioned by the Head of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Taiwan, Nicole Niu, PRRS is one of the most troublesome diseases in the swine industry in Taiwan, causing significant economic losses. However, controlling PRRS is like participating in a marathon race; it requires thorough preparation, determination, and endurance to overcome it. In the context of PRRS control, Boehringer Ingelheim's PRRS Solutions provide the most effective vaccine - Ingelvac PRRS MLV, the most advanced biosecurity checking tool for pig farms - COMBAT, and the most effective strategy program- 5-Step Process. The forum gathered over 200 customers from the swine industry and invited 4 outstanding speakers, including Professor Hung-Chih Kuo from the Department of Veterinary Medicine at National Chiayi University, who shared the current situation and control strategies of PRRS in Taiwan; Professor Ming-Tang Chiu from the Department of Veterinary Medicine at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, who shared PRRS control strategies and the importance of regional control plan; Assistant Professor Shu-Hwae Lee from the College of Veterinary Medicine at National Taiwan University, who summarized three major biosecurity points to help everyone more effectively prevent and control PRRS; and finally, the Global Senior Brand Manager of Boehringer Ingelheim, Zi-Herk Cheah, who passionately shared the PRRS vaccine prevention and control experience from various countries around the world, injecting a strong boost for our customers to use Ingelvac PRRS MLV. During the discussion session of the forum, the speakers also shared practical insights and exchanged ideas on the questions raised by customers, exploring solutions for controlling PRRS together.
