COVID-19: Protecting Our Employees

Protecting our Employees

When the pandemic first emerged, we introduced global travel restrictions, which are currently under review in accordance with national government regulations. As an organisation, Boehringer Ingelheim also has state-of-the-art technology and equipment in place to facilitate the digital workplace. Our employees have the equipment and technical capabilities to log into their business systems from home. Here in the UK, we continue to follow government guidelines and have welcomed colleagues back into the office with appropriate precautions to keep people safe. Many colleagues have adopted a hybrid model of working, combining time in the office with working from home. On-site and production-related activities are subject to special protective conditions and employees work in separated shifts. This ensures that our production is not affected and the supply of our medicines to humans and animals remains uninterrupted. With regard to the implementation of measures, we strictly follow the guidance of local authorities and international experts, including the World Health Organization (WHO).
