Your first steps with us
We want to make it easy for talented people to join us. This is the place to find out how.
For a quick look at our application process, watch the steps in the video – or, for fuller details, see the guide below it.
More about our process
Every year, we hire thousands of people in hundreds of roles, which means that we use many different recruiting processes. So we can’t say here, “When you apply, this is exactly what will happen.” Some things, though, are almost always the same. Click on a topic below to discover more.
Please always apply online, using our job board, not via e-mail or on paper. You’ll need to create an account and provide us with some basic personal information. We will always ask for a CV, but not – usually - a cover letter. Each individual job ad will say if it needs any other documents.
Typically, the recruiter will screen applications, based on the documentation, or reach out to you for any missing information. They then send a shortlist of candidates to the hiring manager, who will choose which to interview. Whether or not you are selected for interview, we will keep you informed.
Interviews may be held either virtually or on-site, and their sequence and content will vary, but you’ll almost always at least speak to someone from HR and the hiring manager. They will be looking for technical skills, competencies, team fit and cultural fit for Our FOCUS (For more about Our FOCUS, click here: https://www.boehringer-ingelheim.com/about-us/company-culture/our-focus)
We will, of course, contact you if we want to offer you the role. But we’ll also tell you if we decide not to take your application further and provide feedback that we hope will be helpful.
