COVID-19: Spain - Pulse oximeters donation
COVIDALARM - Project for remote monitoring of COVID-19 patients with respiratory infection at home after their hospital stay
Boehringer Ingelheim Spain has contributed to this project by financing the purchase of 200 intelligent pulse oximeters.
Patients who must be in home isolation during their convalescence will require remote and real-time monitoring of parameters such as respiratory rate, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.
All this information would be transmitted in real time to the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, Barcelona, medical team, to take action early and prevent deterioration of respiratory function.
COVIDALARM would help to speed up the management of these patients safely, accelerate discharges and favor the admission of more serious patients to the hospital, which currently has limited capacities.
