Stargardt Disease
At Boehringer Ingelheim, we aim to preserve the retina and prevent vision loss in people with or at risk of retinal conditions such as Stargardt Disease. Stargardt Disease is a hereditary retinal disease which causes degeneration of cells in the retina at the back of the eye.
Stargardt disease causes progressive vision loss, typically during childhood or adolescence. Although it is rare for people with Stargardt disease to become completely blind, vision can deteriorate over time until they only have 10% vision or worse remaining.
