COVID-19: Boehringer Ingelheim Southeast Asia & South Korea supports several organizations in fighting COVID-19
Beyond direct support of the healthcare community on the ground, several organizations are receiving support in Southeast Asia & South Korea
We operate in all of these countries and are determined to help the frontline workers and communities. Additionally, we are working with local organizations to ensure help is channeled toward those who are in need most.
In South Korea, Boehringer Ingelheim participated in a donation campaign initiated by the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI). Together with 14 German companies, KGCCI donated a total of around EUR 749,000 to the Korean Red Cross. We also donated to the Korea Veterinary Medical Association)to support veterinarians in Daegu City and Gyeongbook Province – the most affected areas by COVID-19 in Korea. Employees also made individual donations to KRPIA (Korea Research-based Pharmaceutical Industry Association) to support elderly people who are living alone and having difficulties due to COVID-19.
In the Philippines, we donated close to EUR 10,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by way of contribution to the Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP) through its CSR arm PHAPCares Foundation Inc.
In Malaysia, the team is supporting the Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia (PhAMA) to purchase personal protective equipment for frontline medical workers.
In Indonesia, we support the International Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Group (IPMG) in providing personal protective equipment for medical workersIn addition to this, the employees have started to give their voluntary contributions via the Employee Cooperative and all the money collated will be used to support medical front liners with either hot meals or personal protective equipment.
