“If my small gesture can help someone, a collective effort can really drive something!”

Area Sales Manager Sanjay Gulani, volunteers with an NGO to supply thousands of food packets daily for the migrants in need through its various centres in India.
"I have been participating in several social activities right from my childhood and I thank my parents for that. They started taking me along for the weekly spiritual discourses right from my teen age. At that age I didn't understand much around spiritual teachings but the simple moral science tales and helping each other, really shaped me to who I am today.”, said Sanjay.

“My association with RSSB (Radha Soami Satsang Beas) has been for a long time now and I volunteered for various types of sewa (help) like Jal Sewa - serving water to attendees at RSSB and Langar Sewa – a communal free kitchen serving meals to all visitors. Also, washing utensils, building temporary tents for satsang (spiritual discourse), taking care of plants etc., was part of the volunteering work. I remember since I was a child, I have been visiting RSSB Ahmedabad centre on weekly basis and contributing my time for the social welfare.
Now, RSSB has stepped in once again and is supplying thousands of food packets daily, for migrants in need through its various centres in Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. As soon as learned about the sewa project I showed my interest to join as a volunteer. I stayed there on weekends and conducted my sewa. Initially I had to go through preliminary testing of my temperature, physical examination through the RSSB medical team. Then I was given a badge which was my temporary I-card for Covid-19 Project sewa. We started with production of 5,000 food packets for distribution which has now gone up to 45,000+ per day, a number that indeed makes me a proud volunteer! I believe that we are here to help each other and when life gives us such opportunities, we should put our heart and soul into it.” said Sanjay
