COVID-19: Boehringer Ingelheim Thailand Equips Frontline Workers against Covid-19
Learn more about how Boehringer Ingelheim Thailand is working together with the Thai Department of Disease Control, to prepare frontline medical workers in tackling Covid-19 cases
The current Covid-19 situation has heavily strained the healthcare systems in Southeast Asia, including Thailand. With the number of new cases growing steadily each day, it is crucial that front-line healthcare workers are properly equipped to treat Covid-19 patients.
Boehringer Ingelheim has been present in Thailand for over 50 years and employs over 250 employees in the country today. The Thailand team are active members of their local communities and are determined to play their part in helping healthcare workers.
On 13th April, Boehringer Ingelheim Thailand donated medical equipment worth One million Thai Baht (approx.. 28.500 Euro) to the local Thailand Department of Disease Control (DDC), Ministry of Public Health.
Dr. Armin Wiesler, General Manager and Head of Human Pharma, with the support of his team, presented this donation to Dr. Asadang Ruayajin, Deputy Director General, DDC, Ministry of Public Health. Other doctors present from the Ministry include Dr. Sopon Iamsirithawon, Chief of EOC DDC.
The medical items donated included N95/KN95 masks, surgical gowns, personal protective equipment (PPE) sets and hand sanitizing gel.
The DDC will coordinate and arrange for the distribution of these medical items to hospitals and healthcare professionals. These items will directly help local front-line medical staff at risk in the fight against COVID-19.
On behalf of the Thailand team, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all healthcare personnel on the frontlines for the incredible work they are doing in treating Covid-19 patients.
