Our Mission

Our Mission is to encourage the use of minority, LGBT and women-owned suppliers as well as suppliers with strong diversity and inclusion programs. Additionally, some of the other various small business concerns are Small Disadvantaged, HUBZone, and service disabled veteran-owned small businesses. Access to purchasing opportunities and fair and impartial consideration will be given to any reputable concern, small or large, which is qualified to supply goods or services that satisfy our requirements. The goal of BI is to purchase all goods and services at the best over-all value to the Company, taking into consideration quality, delivery, functional performance, and price.

Program Overview

Our Supplier Diversity Program encourages business partnering from Suppliers in the following categories:

SMALL BUSINESS: Based on the number of employees and revenues

SMALL DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS: 51% minority owned, with net worth NTE $750K

WOMEN OWNED: 51% women owned

HUBZONE: Small businesses located in economically depressed areas, whereby a percentage of the workforce resides in the economically depresses area

VETERAN OWNED: Small business that is 51% owned by U.S. veteran of the armed services

VETERAN DISABLED: Small business that is 51% owned by U.S. veteran of the armed services that became disabled during military service

MINORITY OWNED BUSINESS OF ANY SIZE: Business that is 51% owned and operated by an individual(s) who are U.S. citizens and their ancestry is African American, Native American, Hispanic, Asian Pacific or Asian Indian.

DISABLED OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE: Business that is 51% owned and controlled by a disabled person or persons

Boehringer Ingelheim’s Supplier Diversity program recognizes the following certifying organizations:

SELF CERTIFICATION :

BI’s  Self Certification must be completed as part of the initial onboarding process to ensure  the supplier’s profile is marked as small or diverse in the Master Data Management (MDM) system. The supplier will also be required to Certify their Small or Diverse Status annually thereafter.
