Mario Cabrera, Head of Marketing for the US Pets Business, sees many connections to his Hispanic culture and BI’s corporate values. Here are a few ways Mario’s heritage aligns with his role as a Latin executive and inspires his work each day.

  1. Foundation of respect. There’s a real emphasis at Boehringer Ingelheim to listen and understand one another. With these personal and professional values coming together, Mario can more effectively meet the needs of patients and animals. He is also able to lead with positivity and handle challenging situations.
  2. Good working relationships. Since joining the organization in May 2019, Mario has felt welcome and experienced a sense of belonging. This is a value engrained in the entire Boehringer Ingelheim family in the United States and abroad. Having this experience with his colleagues allows Mario to do his job well and take pride in what he is accomplishing.
  3. A passion to give back. Mario uses his position in leadership to share his experiences and knowledge with others, further connect with his culture and colleagues, and make a positive impact across our family-owned company. He recently became co-sponsor of our LatinX+ Business Resource Group, which is a platform where employees can connect, volunteer, share ideas, and grow professionally.
