A Planned Safety Net for Patients in Need
That’s why Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation developed its “Produce to Give” program – an extension of its Product Donations Program – to provide a supply of Boehringer Ingelheim medicines at no cost to patients living with chronic health conditions.
These medicines are produced specifically for distribution through our longstanding partner, Americares, to 35 clinics across the United States. The medicines allow safety net clinics – clinical sites that provide care to those who otherwise would have barriers to accessing quality health services – to increase their capacity to provide comprehensive care, improve health outcomes, and reduce out-of-pocket costs for patients.
"Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation is committed to improving access to healthcare with a focus on underserved patients," said Karen Iannella, President, Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation. "The Produce to Give program with our valued partner, Americares, is one of the ways we accomplish this goal."
After being established in the United States, the program was expanded internationally in 2015 to help patients in Tanzania and El Salvador.
