Xochimilco

Located in Xochimilco, Mexico City, this site began operations in 1973, when Boehringer Ingelheim built a manufacturing plant.

The facilities cover a total area of over 100,000 square meters and host two production plants, administrative buildings, and an auditorium as well as some leisure areas. Currently, more than 1,200 employees work at this site.

Pharmaceutical production has been a central activity of this site since its foundation. Throughout the years, production capacities have been gradually expanded and modernized. The two production plants with more than 530 employees use a variety of production technologies, such as coated tablets, tablets and liquids for the global and local market supply of both Human Pharma and Animal Health.

In addition to this site, there is a facility for Animal Health located in Guadalajara city, which focuses on bio processes for vaccine production and handles technology for poultry, cattle and swine species. More than 200 employees work in the production plant, which mainly serves Mexico, Latin America, the Middle East and South East Asia.
