Making toys from donated t-shirts for animals in shelters

Nearly 400 employees recently came together at several of our U.S. sites to make toys out of donated t-shirts for animals living in shelters. Volunteers created more than 500 toys that were sent to local animal shelters and to our partner, Project Canis. This is just one example of our commitment to both human and animal health. We hope to bring joy to the animals waiting for their fur-ever home and continue to take steps to celebrate and strengthen the bond between people and animals.

Also, this collaboration is particularly special because our values and mission align with Project Canis. They help aid animal shelters by providing them with toys, while we take steps to keep animals healthy with our life-enhancing medicines. Project Canis also promotes reducing waste by encouraging partners to re-purpose materials when making toys that would typically be discarded. Likewise, we are working towards reaching goals through our Sustainable Development for Generations strategy, where we aim to bring more health, more potential for communities, and more green to protect the planet.

For this donation, employees took part in an annual engagement day where we all came together to make the toys and give back to the communities we serve. Yew Looi (YL) Liew, our President of Human Pharma, (pictured above) was one of many who made toys for the animals.
