Constant change, constant motivation

“The evolution of my roles keeps me motivated”

Senior Consultant, Corporate Strategy & Consulting

Rahul-Prasad

Rahul J. Prasad is a Senior Consultant with our Corporate Strategy & Consulting division – a job that suits his passion for data and his love of variety.

Boehringer Ingelheim was always a very well-known, family-owned company where I lived when I was going to university. It had a reputation for not being easy to get into, but people always said that if you were lucky enough to get your foot in the door, you’d have plenty of opportunities! That’s certainly been true: my current role is to act as a trusted advisor and business partner to all internal stakeholders within the company. We support and address the needs of our senior leaders up to board members for various kinds of strategic or innovative projects and initiatives.

Diverse company, shared mindset

Our culture is very open and friendly, probably due to the diversity we are so fortunate to have. Working with people from different parts of the organization and the world has been a great experience, with everyone having a similar mindset of being passionate about their roles and how they impact the bigger picture.

Every project is different

Over the last 15 years, my passion for data and technology has been an underlying theme in all my roles. I have always enjoyed learning about different areas of the company and how we can use data and technology to improve what we do. The best part of my current role is that each project or initiative that we are involved in is very different from the last. You end up gaining exposure and a deep knowledge of the different areas of the business in a short amount of time — and then you are on to the next challenge.

What’s next for you?

With the exposure I have gained in my current role, I would like to see myself in a leadership role dealing with technology or data analytics related topics in an area of the business where I can really make an impact.

What’s the best thing about working at Boehringer Ingelheim?

For me, it has been the opportunities to learn and grow by moving across functions and broadening my knowledge. Employees don’t typically stay with one company for so long, but the evolution of my roles at Boehringer Ingelheim has kept me here. I started as an intern in Ridgefield, Connecticut and quickly moved into Finance, then IT and now in Corporate Strategy & Consulting. My roles allowed me to gain international experience working in France, China, and Argentina, and eventually brought me to Germany. I’ve managed to take on a new role every 2-3 years, which keeps me motivated - and that’s the best thing about Boehringer Ingelheim!
