Making every second count
All too often, a stroke patient who could have been saved dies or is permanently disabled because they were not treated in a specialised stroke unit. The Angels Initiative recognises emergency response teams who make every second count for stroke patients.
Patients may not remember them, but by diagnosing their stroke, providing emergency transport, choosing the appropriate hospital and pre-notifying the hospital that they are on the way, emergency response teams enable patients to experience a lifetime of memories.
